Help a Rising Star Find a Cure!

Do you remember that time, when 
you were a kid? You were swimming at the pool, going for that toy way down at the bottom of the deep end, when, suddenly you realized you were out of air but nowhere near the surface! For you and me, that sense of panic goes away when we break through the surface.
When you’re a person with Cystic Fibrosis (CF), you might get that feeling every day, and sometimes, it doesn’t go away. CF is a life-threatening genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and progressively limits your ability to breathe. There are treatments for CF, but there is no cure.
A long time ago I became interested in what it means to be free. In the past, freedom to me, meant making your own choices, moving freely from one place to another and being able to travel your journey through life the way you choose. Now, as the Director of Programs at Allwel, a licensed home care agency, I’ve seen how freedom is sometimes interrupted because of an illness.
I was recently honored to be selected by the WNY chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to be one of their Rising Stars of Buffalo 2016. Please help me make a difference in the lives of people affected by CF by donating to my fundraising campaign. Let’s restore as much freedom in their lives as possible!

About Rising Stars: Rising Stars is one of Western New York’s premiere young professional events. Join them as they honor some of Buffalo’s rising leaders and help to celebrate their success in their chosen career and their volunteer work in the community. The Rising Stars program offers a unique opportunity to network with other young professionals, career building opportunities with community leaders, and learn more about the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s mission through care center physicians and individuals living with cystic fibrosis. Honorees, like Thane, agree to raise a minimum of $1,750 to help find a cure for cystic fibrosis.
