The way you think, the way you behave, the way you eat, can influence your life by 30 to 50 years…. Deepak Chopra

Happiness is a choice, and thinking positively is a choice. We are inundated with daily news and information that affects our physical and emotional well-being. Author and positive psychology researcher, Shawn Achor, confirms, “The brain receives 11 million pieces of information a second, but can only process 40 bits of information a second.” So what can we do to process all of this information without becoming overwhelmed and exhausted?

When I first met certified life mastery consultant Lynn Tranchell I knew immediately that she had a secret I wanted to know about. I knew she was a positive thinker. “When we perceive the world in a more positive way, we act, feel, and make choices that enhance our lives,” says Tranchell. I see positive thinking as a way to focus our mind with uplifting affirmations, helping us transcend daily distractions. This is further confirmed by researchers documented in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, who found that optimism and positive thinking are associated with mood, coping mechanisms, and positive immune change in response to stress.

Tranchell is particularly encouraged by a global movement called MindPT or Mind Power Technology that affects how we process information. MindPT is an application that includes a short three-minute audiovisual presentation of uplifting images, music, and affirmations that positively affects mood, attitude, and energy for six to eight hours.
“The idea that positive thinking can prime the mind for a better life through a technology-based application of scientifically proven principles of positive psychology and neuroscience is revolutionary. MindPT retrains the brain to think more positively and rise above self-defeating patterns,” explains Tranchell.

Kim Serafini, founder and CEO of MindPT, states, “MindPT is the application of 17 clinically studied elements researched and applied from the most significant and latest scientific findings from the fields of positive psychology and neuroscience. Each element is proven to safely and quickly improve emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing.” Some of these elements include meditation, relaxation of stress response, neuroplasticity, Pygmalion effect (an unconscious response to expectations), positive empowering statements, and mental rehearsal. In a day and age when more people are seeking ways to improve their physical and emotional health, MindPT is a great tool that may offer significant benefits with little risk.

Tranchell says, “This was the perfect next step for me. It aligns with how I coach individuals. I use it personally and find I’m more in touch with how it impacts me positively every day. I become grateful and that leads to better outcomes. You can either find ways to positively impact your life for the better, or remain stuck.”
