Catholic Health Sponsors Stroke Support Group at OLV Senior Neighborhood

To help area stroke patients live their highest quality of life, Catholic Health is hosting a monthly Stroke Support Group meeting on Saturday, November 12 from 10 a.m. – 12 noon at the OLV Senior Neighborhood Community Room, 55 Melroy Avenue in Lackawanna.

This month’s topic is Stroke Care in a Joint Commission Accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center presented by Lee Guterman, PhD, MD, Catholic Health Medical Director of Neurosciences and one of the area’s leading neurointerventional stroke specialists. Dr. Guterman will discuss the role of Joint Commission Accredited Comprehensive Stroke Centers, how they serve the community and why they are important for stroke patients and their families. He will also answer any questions related to comprehensive stroke care and treatment.

Attendance is free and open to recently diagnosed stroke patients, long-term stroke survivors and caregivers. In addition to the group discussion, the meeting offers information on community resources for stroke patients. Free parking is available and light refreshments will be served.
