Hepatitis Awareness Month

Hepatitis C is a condition potentially life-threatening condition affecting thousands of people in Western New York but, it often doesn’t have any symptoms early on. Hepatitis C affects the liver’s ability to function and, if left untreated, could potentially lead to liver cancer and liver failure. There are also other, less common forms of hepatitis including Hepatitis A and B

May is National Hepatitis Awareness Month. The Liver Center of Western New York is hosting an event on Friday May 17th to increase awareness on hepatitis and provide community education. We will be hosting the event at two separate locations: the Buffalo City Mission at 100 E Tupper St, Buffalo, NY 14203 from 11:30am- 1:30pm and the Niagara County Trott Access Center at 1001 11th St, Niagara Falls, NY 14301 from 9am-3pm.

Staff from the Liver Center of Western New York will provide education on hepatitis, how to identify those are most at risk, how to get tested, and information on treatment options
