Mental Health First Aid Certification Training

Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. This training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care. Class is ideal for Employers , Police officers , Hospital staff , First responders , Faith leaders, Community members and Caring individuals. This is an international recognized, evidence based training from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. Class may be eligible for 7.5 CEUs Course led by Shawn Marie Cichowski, National Mental Health Instruction and Well-Being Coach. Certificate upon completion. Certification valid for 3 years.

• Common signs and symptoms of mental illness
• Common signs and symptoms of substance use
• How to interact with a person in crisis
• How to connect the person with help
• Trauma, addiction and self-care
Class Format Options: First Aiders will complete a 2-hour, self-paced online pre-work and attend a 6.5 Live Virtual Instructor lead session on June 1st@9am-3:30pm.
