Nicotine and Stress: A Vicious Cycle

November 15, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

OVERVIEW:

How can healthcare professionals and educators dispel the continued perception that tobacco and vape products relieve stress? Join the New York State Smokers’ Quitline and a panel of experts for a look at recent campaigns, stories from the field, and resources to overcome nicotine addiction in an increasingly stress-filled world. Register for this free one-hour webinar by visiting https://nysmokefree.com/newsroom.

OBJECTIVES:

At the conclusion of this webinar, attendees will be able to:
– Describe the rationale for the Truth Initiative’s recent youth and young adult anti-vaping campaign, “Breath of Stress Air.”
– List two advantages of simultaneously treating tobacco dependence and mental health conditions for individuals who experience psychological disorders, despite perceived challenges with stress.
– Identify current stress triggers among participants who access the New York State Smokers’ Quitline’s services.
