THE EYES ON AMERICA FOUNDATION DONATES CATARACT SURGERIES FOR COLUMBIA AND PERU IMMIGRANTS

 

The Eyes On America Foundation donated at no charge, cataract surgeries for immigrants from Columbia and Peru who do not hold health insurance. This donation took place at the Atwal Eye Care and Buffalo Ambulatory Surgery Center at 3095 Harlem Road, Cheektowaga.

The Eyes On America Foundation with Chairman Dr. Kenneth Anthone and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ephraim Atwal has performed 300 cataract surgeries in Western New York at no charge for the poor, needy, Veterans, those without health care insurance, the underinsured and refugees during the past nine years.

The cataract surgery recipients are:
Lilia Vera Gonzalez, age 74 now residing in Hartford, Connecticut, immigrant from Columbia, with no health care insurance, and some health issues

Jose Rocha, immigrant from Peru, age 60, unable to afford health care insurance and currently at risk to lose his job with poor sight at a potato chip factory.
