McGuire Earns Top Quintile Rating

McGuire – Only Multi-Facility Provider in State to Earn Top Quintile Rankings Five Consecutive Years

For the past five years, the New York State Department of Health has issued a Nursing Home Quality Initiative that evaluates nearly 600 nursing homes in the state based on quality performance. The reports rank facilities by quintile using a number of measurable quality indicators such as pressure ulcers, falls, catheter use, changes in activities of daily living, flu vaccine rates, resident weight loss, rehospitalization rates and more.

The McGuire Group’s five Western New York facilities are among a short list of facilities state-wide that have achieved the top quintile status for five consecutive years, with The McGuire Group being the only multi-facility provider in the state to have achieved this milestone.

Information for the state rankings is calculated and managed by the New York State Department of Health. A consistently high quintile rating is impressive because it highlights a company’s long-term commitment to creating healthier communities and meeting a full spectrum of health care needs.

The McGuire Group’s five local facilities feature more than 950 beds and include: Autumn View Health Care Facility in Hamburg, Garden Gate Health Care Facility in Cheektowaga, Harris Hill Nursing Facility in Williamsville, Northgate Health Care Facility in North Tonawanda and Seneca Health Care Center in West Seneca.

“Our consistency in achieving the first quintile status is a reflection of the clinical expertise, training and employee commitment that exists at every level within our facilities,” stated Susan Grigg, RN, BSN, CRRN, LNC, vice president. “Our team continuously strives to develop innovative new pathways, incorporate best practices and develop programs that enhance our residents’ health and quality of life.”

In addition, The McGuire Group is the only multi-facility provider in Western New York to have all of its facilities rated 5 stars out of 5 by the federal government.  Services include: subacute and outpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing care, palliative and hospice care, memory care and respite/short-term care.
