WHAT: Independent Health and Reddy Bikeshare announce the launch of the bikeshare program’s fourth season, which will bring back 200 “smart” bicycles with GPS capabilities to over 40 stations throughout the city of Buffalo. Reddy Bikeshare is offering a new $3 membership option this season, and also recently announced in partnership with Independent Health that the program will be available in Niagara Falls later this year.

Reddy Bikeshare makes bicycles easily available to individuals for shared use on a short-term basis, allowing users to pick up a bike from one of the stations and return it to any other designated location. Reddy bikes are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week April – November. Since the launch of its first season on July 21, 2016, 9,350 riders have traveled a collective total of 116,345 miles (almost ½ the distance from the earth to the moon) and have burned 4.8 million calories.

Reddy Bikeshare hopes to continuously increase ridership this year through visitors and tourists to the city, along with Buffalo area residents and downtown employees. Memberships are now available for purchase, and to celebrate the coming of Spring, Reddy Bikeshare is offering 50% off of annual memberships (normally a $55.00 value) purchased through April 15 with the promo code REDDY4SPRING19. The promotion is valid for new members as well as renewing members. Bikes will be available to ride the week of April 1st.

Current members of Reddy Bikeshare can also redeem a 20% off discount for helmets at Campus Wheelworks at 744 Elmwood Ave. Members can use the Social Bicycles app to show an active membership status to the Campus Wheelworks representative.
