In light of actor, Luke Perry’s death, due to a massive stroke, the American Heart Association sends our condolences to his family, friends, and fans. The American Heart Association would like to remind you about information and resources that can help when it comes to dealing with stroke.

Stroke Types:

Stroke can be caused either by a clot obstructing the flow of blood to the brain (called an ischemic stroke) or by a blood vessel rupturing and preventing blood flow to the brain (called a hemorrhagic stroke).
Treatment Options depend on the type of stroke.
A TIA (transient ischemic attack), or “mini stroke”, is caused by a temporary clot.
