$1,200 Scholarship Opportunity

The Special Events committee is announcing a $1,200 scholarship opportunity for you to share with your associates and colleagues! One recipient will be awarded $1,200.
Applications are now being accepted for the “Jerry Flaschner Humanitarian Award” – an award established in 2006 in honor of the late Jerry Flaschner. It is designed to recognize an individual who has demonstrated the same concern for older persons in the WNY community as exemplified by Jerry and his “no problem” attitude.

This is a great opportunity for individuals who are currently enrolled in educational programs of undergraduate or graduate level at an approved college or university. Eligible applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Applicant must be employed or affiliated with a Network in Aging member agency but does NOT have to be a member themselves.
- Pursue education endeavors, outside of normal working hours, which are directly related to their current job assignment or which prepares them for additional responsibilities within the field of aging.
- Demonstrate stability, innovation, perseverance and a commitment to diversity and community in all that they do.
- A demonstrated interest can include prior work experinece in the field of aging.
