Elderwood Recognizes Exemplary Staff

iCARE Awards of Distinction awarded to staff for outstanding demonstration of organization’s core values

 

BUFFALO, NY–Elderwood, a leading provider of senior care services throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic has announced the 2020 recipients of the company’s iCARE Awards of Distinction. The awards recognize staff who exemplify the company’s five key core values of integrity, collaboration, accountability, respect, and excellence – referred to as “iCARE Values.”

Four staff members from across the Elderwood continuum of senior care facilities and one staff member from the company’s affiliated pediatric care provider in Pennsylvania were honored by their colleagues. Nearly 500 nominations were submitted and the five winners were chosen by a multi-discipline committee of company leaders. Each recipient was chosen as being representative of one of the five iCARE values.

The 2020 honorees include:

Integrity – Michael Hubschmitt, RN, Regional Nurse Consultant. Mr. Hubschmitt lives in Elmira and oversees clinical staff at four Central New York Elderwood long-term care communities.

 

Collaboration – Fatu Borbor, housekeeping aide, Elderwood at Amherst. Ms. Borbor is a resident of Buffalo.

 

Accountability – Christine Harte, RN, Director of Nursing, Pediatric Specialty Care, Point Pleasant, also oversees nursing operations at Pediatric Specialty Care’s Deer Run, Cedar Crest and Glen Drive group homes. She lives in Pipersville, PA.

 

Respect – Maria Stran-Martin, a Lancaster native, is administrator at Elderwood Senior Living at Lancaster, PA.

 

Excellence – Tracy Peters, LPN Team Leader, Elderwood at Lancaster.

 

Honorees were recognized by senior leaders at an online meeting and presented with a commemorative trophy.

With nearly 5,000 employees across six states, Elderwood and its affiliated companies provide post-acute healthcare services in a variety of settings.
