Endeavor Health Services’ Clubhouse is a supportive and inclusive community program for youth and adults throughout Western New York. Clubhouse’s Program Supervisor Meghann Simpson, NYSPA, says Clubhouse reduces the need for inpatient care, and helps individuals better manage their emotional, mental, and behavioral health.

Funded by a grant, Endeavor Health renovated a portion of its clinic at Walden and Harlem Roads in Cheektowaga to house the program. Those involved in Clubhouse participate in various supportive group settings, as they work toward achieving their individual short and long-term life goals.

Clubhouse’s one-hour classes take place from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm weekdays, and from 9:30 to 11:30 am on Saturdays. Upcoming June class titles include Mindfulness, Beating the Blues, Coping Skills, Coping with Addiction, Empowered, Developing Trust, Spirituality, Grief and Loss, Managing My Emotions, Fighting Fears, Creatively Coping, Managing Thoughts, Healthy Relationships, Stress Management, Self-Care, Mindfully Moving, Social Skills, Rejection, Attacking Anxiety, Job Skills, and Communication Skills. Saturday morning classes feature Morning Stretch, Self-Care, and Mindfulness. For a complete list and full descriptions, visit https://www.ehsny.org/clubhouse

Endeavor is also especially pleased to announce that, beginning this July, Clubhouse will be offering one-hour classes for youth ages 13-17. Youth classes also take place from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm weekdays, and from 9:30 to 11:30 am on Saturdays. Classes for youth are broken down by age as follows: Creative Coping for ages 13-17, Social Skills for ages 10-13, and Managing My Emotions for ages 13-17.

Elizabeth Mauro, Chief Executive Officer of Endeavor, says, “Clubhouse is meeting the needs of people who either don’t want psychotherapy, or who want more than psychotherapy, such as opportunities for social connectedness, therapeutic, and group activities.”

Quite simply, Clubhouse aims to improve the life quality of youth and families by assisting and improving their life skills, and helping them manage everyday stressors such as mental illness, physical illness, legal involvement, relationship conflicts, employment, and more. Clubhouse is a community resource for anyone interested in participating and benefiting from group therapy, peer support, psychoeducation, skill-building, care-coordination, crisis de-escalation, and social connection.

Best of all, Clubhouse is open to anyone with or without a mental health diagnosis, regardless of age, race, gender, sex, ethnicity, disability, ability to pay, or sexual orientation. It is simply a place where individuals can be helped with a variety of needs, regardless of an individual’s involvement with any other program or agency. Clubhouse is truly a haven, especially during these extraordinary times — a one-stop location that connects individuals with the resources they need. Additionally, since Endeavor provides services throughout New York state, anyone living within Western New York or anywhere else in the state who prefers to participate in classes virtually can do so via Zoom.
