Western New York is known for its innovation, business ventures, and entrepreneurial spirit. Throughout the past ten years, Buffalo has been home to new businesses and services throughout the region, giving rise to the need for freelancers.

Freelancers work for themselves and provide a variety of services, such as graphic design, accounting, social media management, copywriting, and more. Freelance Buffalo & Beyond (FBB) is a 3-day conference that includes workshops, educational seminars, panel discussions, and networking opportunities. Additionally, a new awards gala is being planned for this fall. FBB was created in response to the overwhelming need and requests for such an event that partners with both local and national organizations to provide the best available community resources and opportunities to freelancers.

“Freelancers Union applauds FBB on its fifth year of bringing freelancers together to provide them with respect, resources, and advocacy. I’m proud to attend this year’s conference to talk about the need for statewide payment protections to ensure that freelancers are being paid for the work they complete. I look forward to joining Freelance Buffalo & Beyond’s Executive Director Marie Rachelle and her team for a fruitful and productive conference in Buffalo,” said Rafael Espinal, CEO of Freelancers Union and partner of Freelance Buffalo & Beyond.
