Uniform Data System for Medical Rehabilitation(UDSMR) recently confirmed that the GO Rehab Program at Buffalo Center and Ellicott Centerexceeds the 95thpercentile of nationally comparable skilled nursing facilities for the level of independence achieved by their sub-acute residents before being sent back to the community. A non-profit organization affiliated with University at Buffalo‚ UDSMR provides the most comprehensive rehabilitation data to the industry. Facilities worldwide — including in-hospital rehab programs — use UDSMR’s measurement system to document patient functionality throughout medical rehabilitation.

It is with pride that Buffalo Center and Ellicott Center announce that UDSMR data also supports the fact that both centers’ sub-acute rehab residents sustain significant improved function compared to the national average and have a much more likely opportunity to return to the community compared to the national average.” The data is based on the following facts.

Stroke(3 Cases):Ellicott discharged 100% of this population back to the community while the nation discharged success back to the community was only 86.4 %, thus exceeding the national average discharge level of function.

Lower Extremity Fracture (1 Case):Ellicott Center discharged 100% of this population back to the community while the national discharge success back to the community was only 85.3%, again exceeding the national average discharge level of function.

All Orthopedic Cases (3 Cases):Ellicott Center discharged 100% of this population back to the community while the nation discharged success back to the community was only 92.9 %, exceeding the national average discharge level of function.

Cardiac Cases (8 Cases):Ellicott Center discharged 100% of this population back to the community while the nation discharged success back to the community was only 80.7%, again exceeding the national average discharge level of function.

Designed to improve clinical outcomes with an improved resident experience, the Centers Health Care GO Rehab Program speeds recovery and gets residents back to their homes, families, and lives as quickly as possible. In addition to the use of advanced technology and on-site staff, the rehabilitation process is hastened by ongoing patient education and weekly individualized conferences. A fully equipped Activities of Daily Living log suite prepares the patient for a successful return to the life they know. Significantly, the entire program with its many benefits is covered by Medicare.

Anything that speeds the way back to full recovery and good health is good news, and the GO Rehab Program leads the way in that effort. Hospitals, medical personnel, and the patients themselves all benefit. As the UDSMR data makes clear, when it comes to rehab and recovery in the Buffalo region, the GO Rehab Program is just what the doctor ordered.
