Providence Farm Collective Executive Director Awarded Empower Through Ag Award

Buffalo, NY – Providence Farm Collective (PFC) is thrilled to announce that Executive Director Kristin Heltman-Weiss has been awarded New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets’ Empower Through Ag Award. The award will be formally presented at the New York State Fair Women’s Day Brunch on August 28, 2024.
The Empower Through Ag Award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to promoting diversity and inclusion initiatives within the agricultural sector. Kristin has been a tireless advocate for under-resourced communities, supporting initiatives that center grassroots leadership. Her dedication lies in cultivating farmer-led and community-rooted agriculture and food systems to actualize the rights of under-resourced peoples.
Kristin’s nomination by peers and partners from across New York State highlights her exceptional leadership in both community support and agricultural advocacy. Under her guidance, Providence Farm Collective has not only empowered farmers to reconnect with their agricultural heritage but also demonstrated how a grassroots approach can enhance and strengthen our communities.
