Orthopaedic surgeons across New York state are asking people to resume any necessary orthopedic surgery or procedures that will help them maintain their musculoskeletal health.
Orthopaedics is the medical specialty that focuses on injuries and diseases of your body’s musculoskeletal system — your bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and nerves, which allow you to move, work, and be active.

Orthopaedic surgeons have been providing necessary care throughout the pandemic and are well-equipped to safely welcome back patients. As vaccination efforts progress and safety precautions remain in place in all health facilities, there is no better time to reach back out to your physician to resume your care. Accordingly, NYSSOS has launched a “Today, it’s Time” public health campaign to encourage orthopedic practices to let patients know about the importance of seeking orthopaedic care and raising awareness of the importance of good musculoskeletal health.
