The annual Energy for Life Walkathon will be held on Saturday, September 20th. Come join us for a day of connection and help raise awareness and funds for mitochondrial disease research, education, and advocacy. Registration begins at 2:00 pm, followed by our very popular Basket Raffle from 2:00 – 3:30 pm, the opening ceremony at 3:30 pm, and the walk kick-off at 4:00 pm.
The event will also feature live music, snacks, and activities for participants and families. Mitochondrial disease affects people of all ages, causing major organs to fail when the body’s energy-producing cells malfunction. Every 30 minutes, a child is born with this condition, and diagnosis can be challenging because symptoms vary widely.
We walk for all Western New Yorkers affected today and for those who will be diagnosed in the future — walking together because there is hope!
