This interactive collective learning experience offers the opportunity to examine the four principles from the NYSED Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Education (CR-SE) Framework. During the workshop we will differentiate the levels of culture and explore how communication and culture impact family engagement.
Participants will be invited to examine these essential concepts within themselves and their educational organizations:
1. Examine the impact of culture and communication in our practice as educators.
2. Describe the concept of culture and connections to Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Education.
3. Identify strategies for effective collaboration between families and schools to support students.
