Lillian, A True Story of Multiple Personality Disorder

November 4, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Free

“Lillian, A True Story of Multiple Personality Disorder” tells the story of Lillian Mason who was first diagnosed and treated for her rare medical condition at Memorial Hospital in Niagara Falls, NY.
Buffalo author and psychologist Frank Alabiso, PH.D., treated Lillian’s son and worked with her doctors when she was first diagnosed. Forty years later, he has brought Lillian’s story to light, drawing from journals written by Lillian’s 22 personalities, as well as accounts from close family members and medical professionals.
Lillian’s personalities were female, male and fluid, children, teens and adults. Each had their own distinct handwriting, abilities and interests: Lee was a woodcarver, Pat was a member of Mensa, Celeste spoke with a French accent, and Robin Jean shopped at Frederick’s of Hollywood.
Join this free author event on Tuesday, November 4, noon-2 pm at Dog Ears Books, 688 Abbott Road, Buffalo, NY, for a remarkable look at how personal strength triumphed over mental health illness caused by trans generational abuse.
