JCC Upgrades Enhance Wellness and Community Engagement

By Annette Pinder
The Jewish Community Center (JCC) of Buffalo and Amherst, NY, has recently made a series of notable upgrades to its fitness centers, establishing itself as a top destination for health, wellness, and community involvement in Western New York.
- State-of-the-Art Equipment. The most noticeable improvement is the installation of advanced cardiovascular and strength-training equipment. Members now have access to the latest treadmills, ellipticals, rowing machines, and weight systems, designed for optimal performance and user comfort. The expanded free weights area and added functional training spaces promote a more versatile approach to fitness.
- Group Exercise Updates. Group exercise studios have been upgraded with new flooring, sound systems, and lighting. The center offers a broader selection of classes, including yoga, Pilates, spinning, high-intensity interval training (HIIT), and dance fitness, suitable for all ages and skill levels.
- Pickleball. Outdoor pickleball courts will remain open through November, after which they will transition to an indoor setting, offering a dynamic and welcoming space for players of all skill levels. The courts are well-maintained with clearly marked lines and a smooth surface that ensures a consistent bounce for competitive and recreational play. Whether you’re a seasoned player or trying pickleball for the first time, the JCC pickleball courts are the perfect place to stay active, have fun, and connect with fellow enthusiasts.
- Family Fitness, Programs, Workshops. The JCC’s multigenerational activity options reaffirm its commitment to community wellbeing. Both JCC fitness center locations are lively hubs for physical health, personal growth, and social connection, reflecting their mission to enrich the lives of everyone who walks through their doors. The JCC also offers personal training, nutritional counseling, and wellness workshops.
