Buffalo, New York, May 9, 2022 — The 26th Annual Hospice Memorial Walk, presented by Wegmans, is scheduled for Sunday, May 15 at Canalside. The 5k walk begins at 11am and will proceed through Buffalo’s historic waterfront district. The event also includes a one mile “Fun Walk” for people with strollers and wheelchairs.
At HospiceMemorialWalk.com, walkers can register for $35 by forming a team, joining a team, or registering as an individual. NEW this year; if unable to make it to the walk, individuals can register as a virtual walker and fundraise from wherever they are. All virtual walker registration fees will cover the entry for an Essential Care for Children’s family.
Essential Care for Children, an affiliate of Hospice & Palliative Care Buffalo, provides comprehensive, home-based palliative care to medically complex children, and helps to minimize hospital stays and emergency room visits.
All registered walkers will receive an official Hospice Memorial Walk t-shirt and a memorial ribbon. The registration fee also counts towards individual and team fundraising goals. After the walk, walkers are invited to enjoy a picnic lunch, and participate in various games and activities creating a fun
filled day for everyone!
All registered walkers will receive a colored ribbon, representing honored loved ones. Walkers are invited to tie their ribbon on memorial wreaths, which will be proudly displayed throughout the event.
The Hospice Memorial Walk is one of the largest fundraisers for Hospice & Palliative Care Buffalo patients and families, having raised $4.7 million over the past 25 years.
