Publisher’s Letter July 2026
There is something special about July in Western New York. Perhaps it’s the long summer evenings, vibrant festivals, outdoor concerts, farmers’ markets, waterfront activities, and neighborhood gatherings that bring people together. After months of winter weather, July invites us outdoors to enjoy all that makes our region such a wonderful place to live.
From the shores of Lake Erie to the scenic trails, parks, and small towns, opportunities for recreation and connection abound. Families are exploring local attractions, children are enjoying summer camps, and friends are gathering for concerts, art shows, food festivals, and community celebrations. Summer reminds us of the importance of balancing our busy lives with experiences that bring joy, relaxation, and meaningful connections.
At Buffalo Healthy Living, we are equally excited about another reason to celebrate Western New York—our growing reputation as a hub for innovation in healthcare and wellness. Across our region, healthcare providers, researchers, hospitals, universities, and community organizations are collaborating to improve community health. From advances in cancer treatment and neurological care to expanded behavioral health services, telehealth innovations, and community-based wellness programs, Western New York continues to invest in the health and well-being of its residents.
This issue highlights organizations and initiatives that help people live healthier lives and improve access to care. Their work reflects a shared commitment to ensuring that individuals and families throughout our region have the resources they need to thrive. As you enjoy the best of summer, I encourage you to take time to appreciate both our community’s beauty and the dedicated people who work every day to make Western New York healthier, stronger, and more vibrant. Whether you’re attending a local festival, spending time with family, exploring a new walking trail, or learning more about your health, July offers countless opportunities to celebrate life in Western New York.
Wishing you a happy, healthy, and memorable July!
