Summer always makes me feel more vibrant. I love the warmer weather, bright light, and longer days. Summer also makes me feel healthier both mentally and physically, because we get more vitamin D from spending time outside. Not only does vitamin D boost our mental health. It also helps build and maintain healthy bones by helping our bodies absorb more calcium. 

Here in Western New York, there are endless opportunities to spend time outdoors. There is no better time than now to enjoy summer hikes, bike rides, festivals, and farm markets, pick blueberries or strawberries, attend picnics with friends, garden, enjoy events and activities by the waterfront, and more.  

 I admit, all of this activity can sometimes be distracting. I have had a serious case of spring fever! As much as I love being on the go, I also enjoy some quiet time. It’s a great time to lounge outside while reading a book, take a nap, or meditate.
