The Jewish Community Center of Buffalo (JCC) has been bustling with activity this summer. Recent events provided wonderful experiences for JCC members and guests, while upcoming events are sure to bring smiles to people’s faces.

The JCC recently held a pickleball tournament, as well as its 80th Anniversary Celebration at Reikart House Ballroom. The successful fundraiser helps provide scholarships for youth and camp programs.

The outdoor pool remains open throughout August, and outdoor pickleball courts will be open until November. The Storm Swim Club and Certification Classes also continue throughout the year.

On September 7, a family-friendly fitness event will honor Rick Zakalik to showcase the JCC’s dedication to community wellness with activities suitable for all fitness levels. A participatory question-and-answer session at the Maxine & Robert Sellers Theatre on September 11, from 7 to 8:30 pm, will highlight the JCC’s dedication to culture, learning, and literacy. On September 16, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, the JCC will welcome renowned baker Errol Craig Sull for a Sweets and Eats Baking Demo, which will include a 1-hour baking science lecture at both the Amherst and Buffalo locations.

Watch for announcements regarding the Cover-to-Cover JCC Book Festival featuring authors Abigail Pogrebin and Dov Linzer discussing It Takes Two to Torah; and the 41st Anniversary of the oldest Jewish International Film Festival, next Spring. As always, the JCC will continue to feature bimonthly art gallery exhibits.

All of these extraordinary events showcase the JCC’s lively offerings, which include fitness, youth programs, cultural events, and heritage celebrations.
