At 2 pm, Tuesday, March 22, 2022 The Eyes On America Foundation and Atwal Eye Care at 3095 Harlem Road, Cheektowaga will donate cataract surgery for Jeanette Diambu Makiese of the Democratic Republic of Congo. This was announced by Eyes On America Foundation Founder Dr. Kenneth Anthone and Eyes On America Foundation Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ephraim Atwal.
Ms. Makiese, age 69 is a retired nurse with over 30 years of practice. She has come to the United States for medical needs as she also has relatives in Buffalo, New York. Ms. Makiese has been referred to the Eyes On America Foundation and Atwal Eye Care by Dr. Myron Glick of the Jericho Road Community Health Center, a previous honoree with the Eyes On America Foundation. She is now receiving comprehensive eye exams with the Atwal Eye Care Center in Cheektowaga.
Dr. Anthone and Dr. Atwal with the Eyes On America Foundation have donated over 300 cataract surgeries for those in need locally, nationally and internationally.
