Come to a Lunch-And-Learn on Saturday January 13!

By Annette Pinder

Just as your eyes keep changing, so does technology. That’s why Michael J. Endl, MD, of Fichte, Endl & Elmer Eyecare is excited to invite you to attend a free luncheon seminar to learn about the latest options now available in cataract surgery to keep you seeing more clearly than ever in the new year.

Laser Cataract Surgery.

During laser cataract surgery, a surgeon breaks up the clouded lens of your eye using a femtosecond laser, and replaces it with an artificial lens. The laser, which is equipped with built-in optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging, produces a magnified, high-resolution image of your eye to assist the surgeon with achieving greater accuracy. It is an outpatient procedure, and you will return home the same day as your surgery.

Multifocal Intraocular Lenses (IOLs).

Intraocular lenses (IOL) are man-made lenses that replace the eye’s natural lens. In the past, cataract patients were offered a monofocal implantable lens that improved either distance vision or near vision, but not both. Most patients chose to have their implants focused for distance, which then required reading glasses or bifocals for intermediate and near focusing. However, multifocal intraocular lenses are different than monofocal intraocular lenses, as they allow you to see at all distances without reading glasses or bifocals.
The seminar will take place on Saturday, January 13 at the offices of Fichte, Endl & Elmer Eyecare, at 2825 Niagara Falls Boulevard, Amherst, NY 14228. Doors open at 11:30, and the one-hour presentation begins at noon, with the opportunity to ask questions at the end. Lunch will be provided. Call 1-800-309-2020 to register today, and feel free to bring a guest with you to lunch and learn.
