Kaleida says two caregivers now permitted to accompany pediatric and pregnant patients in outpatient settings


BUFFALO, N.Y (March 15, 2021) – Kaleida Health today announced an expanded visitation policy to allow for two (2) caregivers or support persons to accompany pediatric patients in outpatient clinics, the Emergency Department and Ambulatory Surgery Center at Oishei Children’s Hospital. The expanded visitation policy, effective immediately, also applies to pregnant women with appointments in maternity outpatient clinics at Oishei Children’s Hospital.

  • Two (2) designated caregivers or support persons are permitted to accompany a pediatric patient in the Emergency Department at Oishei Children’s Hospital, and must remain in the patient’s treatment room for the entire visit.
  • Pediatric patients having a surgical procedure at Oishei Children’s Hospital may be accompanied by two (2) designated caregivers or support persons.
  • For pediatric and maternity outpatient clinics, two (2) designated caregivers or support persons may accompany a pediatric or pregnant patient to their appointments.
