BUFFALO, N.Y. — Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is proud to announce the recent addition of its Adult Multidisciplinary Neurofibromatosis Clinic to the NF Clinic Network, an initiative of the Children’s Tumor Foundation dedicated to providing high-quality patient-centered care for individuals living with neurofibromatosis or schwannomatosis. The network now includes nearly 80 clinics across the United States and Canada.

Roswell Park is now 1 of 80 clinics in the NF Clinic Network
NF is a group of genetic conditions that leads to the development of nerve tissue tumors in several body areas. These tumors can press on nerves and other tissues, resulting in pain, scoliosis of the spine, learning disabilities, vision and hearing loss and extensive skin growths.
While most tumors are noncancerous, some become malignant and the condition increases risk for other types of cancers such as breast and pheochromocytoma, a rare cancer of the adrenal gland. Lifelong monitoring, early cancer detection and timely treatment is essential for optimal survival and quality of life.
Roswell Park is one of eight new clinics added to the NFCN – the first nationwide network dedicated to improving clinical care and establishing best practices for treating those living with NF.
“Joining the NF Clinic Network is an important milestone for our team and, most importantly, for the patients we serve,” says Lindsay Lipinski, MD, MSc, FAANS, FACS, HEC-C of Roswell Park. “This designation recognizes the strength of our multidisciplinary care and enhances our ability to collaborate nationally and internationally, ensuring patients with neurofibromatosis and schwannomatosis receive the highest quality, most coordinated care possible.”
As part of the NF Clinic Network, Roswell Park has earned NF1 Specialty and SWN Specialty designations, reflecting the clinic’s adherence to rigorous standards for evidence-based NF management, research engagement and patient education.
Roswell Park’s NF clinic provides experienced radiologists, comprehensive clinical care, supportive care services, cancer screening and surveillance and access to the latest treatments through participation in clinical trials.
