Local Women Discuss Mental Health in Women’s History Month Conversation

Spectrum Health and Human Services will host its first online webinar “WNY Women Talk Mental Health” on Wednesday, March 16, beginning at Noon.

Moderated by Brenda Alesii, Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for the Buffalo Niagara Association of REALTORS, the presentation features five local women talking about their mental health journeys. Panelists are:

  • Melodie Baker, National Policy Director for Just Equations;
  • Mary Kate O’Connell, Executive/Artistic Director of O’Connell & Company;
  • Dawn Stone, Peer Support Specialist at Spectrum Health’s Wyoming County Counseling Center;
  • Sandy White, community advocate and owner of Mustard Seed World Consulting Group; and
  • Christine Ziemba, Program Director of NY Project Hope for Spectrum Health.

“Sharing our stories helps us grow as individuals and can also inspire others to seek support,” said Cindy Voelker, Spectrum Health’s Associate CEO. “By hosting this program during Women’s History Month, we want to encourage women to share their stories and continue to help stopping mental health stigma and misunderstanding.”
