Becker Farms Apple School: Group Educational Tours

As a new school year begins, Becker Farms is excited to welcome students, educators, and families back to the orchard with its Apple School: Group Educational Tours, starting today and running weekdays throughout the fall season. Each curated tour highlights Western New York’s rich apple industry and includes hands-on apple and/or pumpkin picking for every participant.

Designed to inspire curiosity and connect classroom learning to the outdoors, Becker Farms Apple School Tours offer enhanced agricultural education for groups of all ages — from daycare and elementary students to high school and college learners. Guests will explore the farm’s history, see daily operations of a working farm, and gain an understanding of how food is cultivated and grown. Tours are led by Becker Farms co-owner, Mindy Vizcarra, and provide students with an immersive farm experience that complements New York State standards in Science, Math, Social Studies, and Language Arts.

Now celebrating 130 years since its founding by German immigrant Julius Becker, the fifth-generation farm has grown to 340 acres and today offers U-Pick fruits and vegetables, a winery, a brew house, event spaces, and a country market filled with homemade pies, hand-rolled donuts, cookies, and local gifts.

“Every year we welcome schools and families to our farm to experience firsthand where their food comes from,” said Andres Vizcarra, fifth-generation family member. “It’s a tradition that’s both educational and memorable — giving students the chance to learn while also making connections with nature and community.”

Tour Details:
• Private group tickets: $12 per student (minimum 12 students/$144; maximum 100 students)
• Includes apple and/or pumpkin picking
• Tours run approximately 90 minutes
• Advance booking required (24 hours’ notice)
