A workshop on the emotional side of learning disabilities explores the emotional distress, negative self-esteem, anxiety, and depression that often accompany academic struggles. Participants learn to recognize the cycle of frustration and failure, understand the impact of social rejection, and develop empathy for individuals with learning disabilities. The workshop aims to provide insights into the prevalence and causes of these emotional challenges and offer strategies for supporting individuals to improve their emotional well-being and academic success.
Participants will learn how to:
Identify emotions experienced by children with learning disabilities
Apply strategies to support the emotional well-being of children with learning disabilities
Practice stress management techniques in the home
