How to Prevent Skin Breakouts
by Susan Ciminelli
Have you ever wondered why you break out in the first place? The answer is two-fold. Your daily skin care routine may not be performing for your skin’s needs. The right skin care routine can keep your skin clear of breakouts, and that includes your diet and lifestyle.
Consuming sugar; processed foods; any type of soda, including diet soda; excess alcohol; and poor-quality sleep contribute to breakouts, rosacea, and gut health issues.
The good news is, you are in the driver’s seat and can make the changes to quickly improve the quality of your skin and your life. Choices you make today impact your health, beauty, and longevity. Bacteria and germs inhabit our skin from head to toe. A healthy face and body skin routine twice daily is essential.
Here are 5 Skin Care tips to help prevent breakouts:
- Clean up your diet. What you eat and drink has a direct impact on your skin.
- Stop touching your face during the day. Our hands carry a lot of germs that can be transferred to your face.
- Change your pillowcase at least 2x a week. Use only a clean towel to dry your skin.
- Instead of picking at your breakouts, making them much worse, use a clay mask as a spot treatment overnight on all blemishes to rapidly heal them.
- Steam your pores with purified water infused with dry rosemary and/or oregano at home for a mini-facial experience once a week for 5-10 minutes. It will help your breakouts diminish quickly.
