Women’s Mentorship Program Relaunched by Women Who Lead and WNY Women’s Foundation

Collaborative mentorship program connects professional women in WNY

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Women Who Lead and the WNY Women’s Foundation will officially relaunch the Women Who Lead mentorship program on Monday, March 9, 2020 at 5 p.m. The relaunch event will feature a mixer to connect professional women as well as remarks about how to officially become a mentor or mentee.

Founded in 2017, Women Who Lead is a team of local female leaders committed to assisting aspiring women in finding a mentor that aligns with their career or skill development objectives.

Women Who Lead founder Ellen Grant said, “Mentors provide essential career guidance and can open doors to new networks for rising professionals. Women make up half the workforce, but often find it challenging to find support and guidance in the early and mid-stages of their careers. At Women Who Lead, we step in and connect these young women with our rich roster of female leaders who can help them grow.”

In 2020, the program will be relaunched under the auspices of the WNY Women’s Foundation’s ALL IN initiative, designed to make Western New York a premier place for women to live, work, and lead.

WNY Women’s Foundation Executive Director Sheri Scavone said, “We are thrilled to be partnering with Women Who Lead to bring this collaborative and invaluable program for women in the region under the ALL IN umbrella. We will now be able to reach more women and make critical connections to propel young professionals forward into positions of leadership.”

Women Who Lead is open to any women age 21 or older who is starting a career or looking to transition in her career. Applicants interested in becoming a mentor or mentee, can easily apply online at www.womenwholeadwny.com. Prospective mentees will be matched with an appropriate mentor based on shared professional interests and field.

The Women Who Lead collaborative relaunch event will take place at 500 Seneca. Doors open at 5 p.m. with remarks at 6 p.m.
