Come to a Free Cataract Lunch and Learn!

By Kathy Otto, Marketing Director Fichte, Endl & Elmer Eyecare

Are you experiencing glare, starbursts, or halos around lights while driving at night? Are you uncomfortable driving in the rain, on the thruway, or on unfamiliar roads? Is the way that you are seeing suddenly feeling like it is not what it once was? If you have answered “yes” to any of these questions, you may need to be evaluated to see if the difficulties you are experiencing are due to cataracts.

Many people think that the changes they are experiencing couldn’t possibly be due to cataracts, especially since, in the past, cataract surgery was only performed on elderly patients with very advanced cataracts. However, age-related cataracts can develop in individuals who are only in their 40s and 50s, and where you live and your exposure to sunlight can increase the likelihood of developing cataracts.

If, following an evaluation, it turns out that you do need to have cataract surgery, it is important to know that many advances have been made over the past decade, including state-of-the-art laser technology and multifocal lens implants. These new advances make it such that patients are able to see at all ranges without glasses.

Come to a free Cataract Lunch and Learn event presented by surgeons at Fichte, Endl & Elmer Eyecare at My Tomato Pie restaurant at 3035 Niagara Falls Blvd, Amherst, NY 14228. Surgeons will host the presentation and you will have the opportunity to ask questions. So, bring a friend and enjoy lunch as you learn together. Upcoming events are scheduled for April 13, May 4, or June 1. Register to attend by calling 1-800-309-2020, or visiting www.fichte.com.
